The Great American Photo Contest

This site is of absolutely no use to me at all but if you are a proud American mom or dad who thinks you have the cutest ever baby, then you have a chance of winning $2,500 by entering a free photo contest.

Edit: It seems from most of the comments that this whole thing is a scam. That being the case I will leave the post up as a warning to others.

As easy as ABC, all you do is register, upload your photo and then wait. The baby with the most votes at the end of the month wins. So if your baby is up-to 48 months why not give it a go.

I entered the pet photo contest that they run. I didn’t fall for any of their advertising gimmicks. But, really how many people that you email the picture to are going to vote, it’s like those chain email letters that people try to keep going (I always delete them).

Then I get an email saying: After reviewing your recent photo entry into the Great American Photo Contest, our Photo Judging Committee selected your photograph to enter the special $10,000.00 Editor’s Choice™ contest.

This contest is separate from the Great American Photo Contest you have already entered, and is judged by professional photographers. The winning photograph will receive $10,000.00 Cash.

They want $20.00 in order for me to enter that contest. I’m sure everyone who entered the first contest got the same email to enter the second contest. It’s a scam.

Anyone who says they won anything (Nikki09 or Elessanda C.) would have to show me the check and prove they don’t work for the company.

      Hi,
I just received the exact same email, but I’m ignoring it.
I can’t even figure out where my photo is in the pet contest.
Bummer of a deal, but at least I saved $20.00.

I also recieved the same type of emails you all received, but it worked differently for me. It appeared a little weird for me at first, but it was free to enter, so I took mychances. They asked for a one time fee of $19.99, but it’s for a different contest. This one is to enter your baby for a chance to win $ 25,000 US bonds. I did that too, but I didn’t win. I entered my baby in the contest in November. He didn’t win that month because he didn’t have the most votes. However, he won for the month of December. I received the check on Monday,01/24/11. I haven’t got a chance to deposit it or cash it yet, but it’s here. My baby won $2500 just like that. I don’t know if you can win more than once, so I am trying to win this month again. Good luck to you all.

Rose, can you post a scan of the check you received? Not to be suspicious, but is it possible you are part of the group sending out all the emails? Any response to a blog, does not have to be honest and without conflict of interest. If in fact you are a representative of the scam effort..shame on you. And if not, I sincerely apologize.

    Hi,

I’ve entered this contest two times and won. In my experience I’ve entered other contest and not won anything or been told to claim your prize you must pay something (I of course ignore those sort of emails). Yet, with the Great American Photo contest you don’t have to give any money to get your winnings. At first, I was suspicious, but after winning two times and getting the checks I’m not anymore. There is the rule of you only being able to win two times out of the year, but I can see why they have that rule; it’s so the other contestants can win. So, those of you who have won, congratulations and those of you who haven’t won let, keep trying; it takes time.

THIS IS A REAL CONTEST! My son won for the month of July 2011. All these sites saying the contest is a scam are pissing me off. But really, it’s OK. Because of all you people not believeing it just give people like me a better chance at winning. There are 2 contest people are mixing up. Fame and Forture with a prize of $25,000savings bond (but does require you to pay $20 to enter) and the Great American Photo Contest with a prize of $2,500 check. This contest is free! I didn’t really think I would win. All you have to give them is your name, email, and zip code. NEVER phone number (unless you are the one registering a picture, so they can call you to tell you that you won). If you use the link http://www.greatamericanphotocontest.com/voter1/index_c.aspx there isn’t even a place for phone number. Just close out the broser after you get the pop up saying they sent you a email to verify. Go verify email and close browser again and bam you bypassed all the million pop up ads that lead to all the spam mail that do come with the registering process. I was still a little weary even after I got the phone call saying we won, but about 5 wks later we got the check in the mail and now my son has $2500 more dollars in his college savings fund!!! Don’t give up and vote and have friends and family vote every day and you too can get a check of your own and won’t need people to scan an image of theirs for you to see. Remember be a little smarter than the computer, and NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!!

I dont understand why many people are buying things or giving out credit card information. They do not have to answer to any of the ads that sponsor the contest. I was a little bit confused when I first entered my daughter but I decided to e-mail their Customer service and I got all my questions answered and I was reasured I didnt have to pay a dime. BUT they have ads for sponsoring. I believe this to be an overall great, AWESOME contest. I can not have been more appreciative.
