Are You Using The Right Blogging Tools?

Have you ever tried to do some maintenance at home but cursed because it was ll just too hard. It could be some work on the car or a simple plumbing job, and usually the reason that it’s harder than what it should be is because you just do not have the right tools. Having the right tools makes the job a lot easier and this is also true for blogging. Rather than rehashing what a whole lot of bloggers have already written I thought I would pass a bit of link love and link to some of the better posts.

Problogger has a fairly extensive list but I am a little disappointed in that apart from a general heading there is no evaluation of the tools themselves. Damn, I though that this was going to be an easy post but it seems that after a bit of searching that most of the posts are as old as the hills and many are not relative to todays blogger.

Oh well, looks like I may have to tell you my favorite tools instead. Well the most important would have to be the blogging platform as this is absolutely essential. I much prefer WordPress and not just because it is free as it also has many features that make a bloggers life easier. Other popular platforms would include Blogger, TypePad and Drupal.

A lot of the tools would come in the form of plugins, especially for WordPress, and they will range from admin to SEO plugins. Firefox also has a range of plugins for bloggers, the most popular would have to be ScribeFire which

enables users to easily drag and drop formatted text from the Web into their blog(s), post entries, take notes, and optimize their ad inventory, directly through the Firefox browser.

Others may include word count which is extremely useful for bloggers who do paid posts and have to post a certain amount of words to be eligible for payment.

To tell the truth there is a plethora of tools out there for bloggers and I would suggest that it may be worthwhile to spend some time to see if there is one out there to help make your blogging life easier.
