Sooner or later you will need to know how to migrate WordPress to another site. My reason for the WordPress migration was to increase my online profitability by cutting costs. This is the second time I’ve cancelled one of my web hosting accounts and transferred my blogs to my Inmotion Hosting account. Both times I’ve noticed the change in loading time moving the blogs from a shared hosting to a VPS Host.

Increasing online profitability is important when it comes to making money online. One of the ways of doing that is obviously to cut down on costs. As most of you know I run my multiple blogs with several hosts. In my last post I mentioned consolidating my web hosting accounts.

I’ve just finished moving Cool Blog Links over to Inmotion Hosting, a move that was relatively painless. I have another two sites to move over within the next few days before my Web Hosting Pad account comes up for renewal at the end of the month. This would be the second web hosting account that I have closed. Obviously any money saved goes into my pocket thereby increasing my online profitability.

How To Migrate WordPress Step By Step

How To Migrate WordPress

Step 1 & 2 How To Migrate WordPress

The first thing you need to do is to download the files from your current host onto your computer. Then you simply transfer those files to the new Host. I prefer to use FileZilla, but you can use whatever program you like.

Step 3 Creating The Domain On Your New Host

How To transfer wordpressObviously, for SEO reasons, you will want to keep your domain name. Therefore, once you’ve uploaded WordPress to your new host you will need to create the domain.

In my YouTube video on How to migrate WordPress site I show how I transferred topsoftwareonline.com to Inmotion Hosting.

Basically, all you do is go to your cPanel and click on Addon Domains which is in the Domains section. You’ll notice in the image above that I have a directory called topsotwareonline.com. So, that’s what I typed in the New Domain Name Area.

Step 4 Download your Database

Now head on over to your old host’s cPanel and click on phpMyAdmin, which you’ll find in the Database are. In the left column you’ll see all your databases. Click on the one you want to migrate. Once that loads you check all the tables and then select export. Take note of the name of the file and where you’ve downloaded it.

Step 5 Create your MySQL Database

Once again in your new host’s cPanel you need to click on the MySQL Database link within the Database are. The in the Create New Database area you type in the name of your new database.

Step 6 Create A New User

You do this in the MySQL Database area. Just scroll down a bit until you get to the Add New User Area and create a user for your database.

Step 7 Add User To Database

Now you simply add the user to your database. It’s really easy, simply select your new user, then your database and click on the Add tab. That takes you to Manage User Privileges page where you click on the ALL PRIVILEGES and then the Make Changes.

Make sure you take note of your User Name, Your Database name and the password because you’re going to need them for when  you edit your wp-config.php file. You’ll notice that I used the example in my video to edit the wp-config.php file below.

transfer wordpress to new hostStep 8 Import Database Into New Host

Remember when you exported the database from your old host? Well, now go to the new database that you’ve created. Remember it’s in phpMyAdmin. Click on that database, the click on import and the the ‘choose file’ tab. Now select the database that you exported earlier.

Step Nine Point DNS Servers Of Your Domain

Finally, you point the DNS servers of your domain from the old host to your new host. once you’ve done that it may take anywhere up to 24 hours for it to kick in but once it does your WordPress will now be fully migrated.

If you get a database area check your wp-config.php file and make sure there are no typos. As long as everything matches up you should not have a problem. If you still can’t work it out, ask the tech guys at your new host to look into it as it may well be on their end.

You can use Test DNS settings .to see if your DNS servers are pointing to the right host.

The three sites I migrated over to Inmotion Hosting was Cool Blog Links, Top Sexual Aids and Top Software Online. I’m so glad I did too, because not only am I saving money but the sites are loading so much faster on my VPS server.

Are your headlights dull and hazy? Would you like to restore your headlights to almost new? Cool, because I’m going to show you just hot to restore your headlights. The video and the following instructions will show you how to restore you headlights with absolute ease.

How To Restore Your Headlights Products

How To Restore Your HeadlightsI was working on my son in law’s car today whilst he was on his honeymoon. The paint job on the hood was really rough. I mean, really, really rough. I used the Meguiars Ultimate Compound, Meguiars Deep Crystal Wet Look cleaner wax and a Meguiars Hand Applicator Pad.

His headlights were really bad and I wondered if the Meguiars products could work some magic on them? They did! Too bad I didn’t take any before and after shots.

That was when I decided to do a video of me cleaning my sons headlights. They weren’t anywhere as near as bad as the son-in-laws car but I figured they still needed some sprucing up. I figured because everyone wouldn’t have a hand applicator pad I decided to use a couple of microfiber cloths.

The microfiber cloths didn’t work as well, I thought, but they still did the job. What I probably should have done but didn’t do is the video was to give the headlights a wash, but what can I say, I was just being slack.

You can see from the video exactly how long it took me to clean each of the headlights as I didn’t edit any of that out.

Maintaining Your Headlights Clarity

The beauty about using these products is that you no longer have to worry about your headlights getting all murky. As soon as you notice them getting a little dull you just hit them with the the Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Meguiars Deep Crystal Wet Look cleaner wax. Your headlights will now always look as good as new.

If you liked the video and it helped you to get great looking headlights please my video the thumbs up.
