As an Apple MacBook Air MC505LL/A 11.6-Inch Laptop owner I can safely say that I love it. It’s probably the sexiest notebook, although Apple don’t like it referred as a notebook that’s pretty well what it is. If you’re thinking of getting one just keep in mind that it’s not designed to be a full on computer as it just doesn’t have the power. It’s more of a secondary one, a computer that is compact and meant to gravel with you to handle all those small tasks.

I use mine for blogging and for doing my share trading when I’m away from the office. Normally I’ll connect to the Internet via it’s Wi-Fi capability and when that’s not available I use one of the network providers. One of the greatest advantages it has over the iPad is it has a proper keyboard which makes typing and other data entry so much easier.

Another advantage of the MacBook Air is that it’s so much faster than the PC I was used to, probably because it works on a flash drive and not a hard drive so everything works so much faster. The only thing it lacks has more to do with Safari than the computer itself. It seems that a lot of the time while surfing I come up with a missing plugin error. I think it’s because I need to load the latest Adobe flash plugin, I should really do something about that.

Now let’s consider the Apple iPad MC497LL/A Tablet (64GB, Wifi + 3G), it’s greatest advantage, if you get the 3G version, is that the internet function is built in, you just have to choose a provider. Naturally you can save a little money by getting the Apple iPad Tablet (32GB, Wi-Fi) version. Then again if there aren’t all that many free Wi-Fi hot spots you might find it extremely frustrating.

I’m not all that comfortable using the onscreen touch keyboard as I find it rather cumbersome. I much prefer the manual keypad of the MacBook Air. One positive it does have is the amount of apps that are available for it. The free ones are great and even the paid ones are very cheap. As a eBook reader, again I think it’s not as good as the Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 3G Works Globally, Graphite, 6″ Display with New E Ink Pearl Technology because it wasn’t really designed with that in mind. If you’re looking for the best eBook reader on the market then the Kindle is your best bet.

If you have any questions just leave a comment and I will do my best to answer it.

Disqus Could Be Costing You Comments

I reckon most bloggers want more people commenting on their blogs but sometimes it takes more than a good post to get a comment out of the readers. One would therefore think that as a blogger you want to make it as easy as possible for people to comment on your blog. Even though there are so many spam comments floating around many bloggers have decided not to use captchas, moderating comments manually, because they don’t want to present hurdles to their commentators.

Personally I don’t like blogs using Disqus and it’s gotten so that I now finding myself scrolling down to see whether the blogger is using Disqus and if they are I don’t even bother reading the post. The only time I will comment on a Disqus blog these days is if I’m reciprocating a comment left on one of my  blogs.

I just don’t see the advantage to the commentator for having it installed and if it’s not making life easier for them then as far as I’m concerned it’s a waste of CPU.

Still, that’s just my opinion but as I was really interested in what others had to say on the matter I decided to run a poll on WassupBlog. It’s a simple yes or no answer but I would really love for you to leave a comment as to why you voted that way. I would also appreciate you Tweeting that post so as to get as many people involved in the poll as possible.

The Importance Of A Positive Outlook

Same Day, Different Shit album cover

I come into contact with a lot of people on a daily basis because of my job and I am surprised how many of them get up in the mornings with what must be the wrong outlook on life. You can see that they just don’t want to be where they are and it’s unfortunate because if you start your day off this way I hate to think how they must feel at the end of it.

The problem is that their attitude is more than likely the catalyst to a crummy day. If you get up thinking it’s going to be bad then that is exactly how it’s going to turn out and you have no-one to blame but yourself. The problem is compounded in the way you treat others, because of your inner turmoil, who will in turn react the same way to you.

People should really wake up every morning wondering what the new day will bring, rather than the ‘shit I have to go to work again’ and hating it attitude. If you think it’s going to be a shit day from the beginning then it will more than likely turn out that way.
