Getting People To Leave Longer Comments On Your Blog

I’m sure we are all a little tired of those useless nice blog, good site, thanks for your post and other useless comments. Most good bloggers use spam filters such as Akismet and Spam Karma 2, and although they generally do a good job, they can’t catch the lazy bloggers that leave those short useless comments.

Enter the Minimum Comment Length WordPress Plugin, a plugin that controls the length of comment that you will accept. Anything short of that will come up with an error message of you own choosing. Go ahead give it a shot. This plugin is another great plugin in a bloggers arsenal against spam and useless comments.

ugh, I just left a longer comment and then there was an error….

mostly I guess I’d not thought of the length of the comment. sometimes I do just want to say “nice job” and on my own blogs, it would be nice to know that someone stopped by, even w/ just a short comment!!

And yet you left such a nice comment Silken. I have set the plugin for 15 words, which isn’t too much to ask, is it?

ok, I would think that 15 would be doable, but see, here I am w/ practically nothing to say!

Now I find it hard to believe that any woman would be lost for words. :biggrin_wp:
