In the video, I’m reading what is supposedly an authentic letter from an angry taxpayer to the Immigration Minister. He’s mad because of all the hoops he has to jump through to renew his passport. I really think you’ll enjoy this funny letter.

OK, now, back to my public servants joke. The thing about civil servants is that most taxpayers believe there’s too many of them and they’re usually trying to get out of work. The following joke shows just what lengths they’ll go to achieve their goals.

Public Servants Joke getting Out Of Work

There were these two public servants who thought they were being overworked. One of the two public servants suddenly lifted his head. “I’ve got it, I know how to get some time off work” he whispers to the other one.

“Bullshit,” says the other. “How are you going to do that?”

Instead of answering, the man quickly looks around. Seeing no sign of his Director he jumps up on his desk, kicks out a couple of ceiling tiles and hoists himself up. “Look!” he hisses, then swinging his legs over a metal pipe, hung upside down.

before you could blink an eye, the Director emerges from the Branch Head’s office at the far end of the floor. He sees the worker hanging from the ceiling, and asks him what on earth he thought he was doing.

“I’m a light bulb” answers the public servant.

“I think you need some time off,” barks the Director. “Go home and relax – that’s an order – and I don’t want to see you back here for at least another two days! You understand me?”

“Yes sir”, the public servant answers meekly then jumps down, loggs off his computer and left.

Not wasting any time the second worker was hot on his heels.

“Where do you think you’re going?” the boss asks.

“Home,” he said lightly. “You don’t expect me to work in the dark, do you?”
