Should You Comment On Blogs?

You bet your hard earned blogging dollars you should! Why do you ask? Well let’s just think about it for a second. As a blogger you know how excited you get when someone stops by and leaves you a comment. It just doesn’t happen enough and it’s probably because people just couldn’t be bothered. Well just imagine if we were to make a commitment to ourselves to leave at least one comment a day. That means that everyday you will make another blogger’s day but there are more benefits.

Every time you leave a comment you also leave a link to your own blog. Now even though that link will not be picked up by Google, if you left a well constructed comment you will get visitors from people clicking on your link because they want to see who left such a great comment. I get several of these every day.

Just keep in mind that the comment should be related to the post. “Great post” just doesn’t cut it. If you haven’t got something nice to say then get the hell out and look for another blog. If we were all to practice this I reckon everyone will benefit. So have you commented today?

What if you just want to tell someone there to cool for words? Does that count?

Gee, I don’t know. Seeing how it’s you I will say yes.

I agree with you. As corny as it sounds, blogging really is a kind of community. I’m always on the lookout for new things to read and learn, and if I see a comment on a blog that’s smart, pithy, or just plain humorous, chances are I’ll take a couple of nanoseconds to click through to their blog to see who they are and what they’re writing about.
