Take The Plunge Of Hosting Your Own Blog Or Website

Those of you who are regular readers of this blog know how passionate I am about the attributes of hosting your own blogs and websites. When you consider that a good webhosting package is a bloggers best friend I am surprised that more bloggers do not take advantage of all it’s benefits, the main one being that it gives you total control and you get to keep all the revenue raised by the blogs, unlike those community blogging sites where you only keep a percentage of it.

I reckon that the one thing that is holding them back is the confusion from not knowing what hosting company to choose. This is not surprising when you consider how many webhosting companies are out there trying to get their business. Perhaps if there were to visit The Web Hosting Geeks who have listed the ‘Top 10 Web Hosting – Best Web Hosts for 2008, it would help to convince them to take the self hosted blogging plunge.

I have always been self-hosted. The payoff is definitely worth it. Total control over your site and your income from that site. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Of course, finding the right host can be hard since there are a million and one possibilities out there.

Finding the right host is probably the hardest decision to make but once that is under your belt it’s pretty well smooth sailing from then on. Also once you have your own host adding on sub-domains is so cheap and virtually increases your earning potential. It surprises me that more people do not take the plunge.

it was scary for me to get started. it is too soon to tell if it will be worth it for me, I know I won’t be able to put in the kind of time you do sire and I don’t have the know how to do lots of the stuff you do w/ your blog. so I’ll just have to wait and see….

I was like you once Silken. We all have the capacity to learn.
