Personally I feel that the best way to lose weight is through a strict exercise regime and through a proper diet. Dieting in itself is not enough and is the one main reason the many people have a ballooning effect where their weight goes up and down depending on their dieting regime.

Rather than go on a diet you should change your eating habits and make it part of your lifestyle change. As for exercise this should also be part of your new lifestyle and I much prefer weight training as this builds up your muscle mass which will in turn increase your metabolism which will help to burn fat deposits.

Some people may choose to resort to drugs such as Phentermine to help control their hunger pangs but I would suggest if you were to go that way to only use it in the beginning until you manage to take control yourself.
