A car accident in Tokyo, Japan.

My daughter is not quite 18 and she’s had her first ever car accident. She was driving home from school in her mother’s car when this old bloke coming in the opposite direction decided to cut in front of her. Even though she slammed on her brakes and took evasive action she was unable to avoid colliding into the oncoming car.

It wasn’t her fault but she was still pretty cut up about it. I assured that the only thing that mattered was that no-one was hurt and that was all that really mattered. She was worried about her mother’s car but I explained that the insurance would take care of that. Sort of makes you wonder how some people don’t bother to insure their cars.

the accident also served as an important lesson, one to do with speed. As I explained to her things could have been so much worse if she was doing more than the speed limit. I’m sure that lesson is well ingrained into her psyche now.

Travel Health Insurance A Necessity Not A Luxury

There are many forms of insurance but one of the more important one is health insurance, and this is so because without your health you don’t have much of anything at all. It may not come in handy if you get the common cold but when something drastic happens that requires a hospital stay, if you’re not covered it could cost you an arm and a leg.

The thing that most people don’t realize about their health insurance is that it does not cover you while you are overseas, which is why you should seriously consider travel health insurance if you are considering an overseas holiday or business trip. Believe when I tell you that I have heard some pretty horrific stories of shit that’s happened to people overseas, and the only thing that saved the day was that they were covered.

When shopping for a new insurance policy, I think it goes without saying that insurance rates are only part of the parcel. There is no point in going for the cheapest rates if the cover that policy good enough for your needs. To determine which one is the best policy, as far as price is concerned, you have to check what each policy actually covers and then you can decide on the policy most suited to your needs.
