MediaPass Putting Money In Your Pocket

This post isn’t for all those bloggers out there who have no interest is using their blog for making money, If on the other hand you love blogging and you don’t have a problem in using you blog for increasing your earning potential then I urge you to read on.

What I’m going to present to you in this post is something way beyond adsense. It doesn’t even have anything to do with affiliate marketing. All you need is either a blog or a website that has information on it that is so useful that people will pay you to get access to it. You’ve probably seen that plugin which displays something like, “If you like this post why don’t you buy me a beer?”, only no-one ever buys you one.

Enter MediaPass! Have you ever wondered why hundreds of websites like ESPN, NY Times, The Economist and The Star Tribune are beginning to charge for select content ? It’s because their paid subscription pages far out-yield their free pages. MediaPass allows you to have recurring paid subscriptions and do so with the same level of sophistication as the major players who are spending millions to build a subscription platform in-house, only it won’t cost you a cent to join.

I’m trying it on this one particular post that explains to people how to fix their iTouch when Safari won’t connect to the Internet. It’s called My iPod Touch Safari Won’t Work. You can see from the amount of comments on this post that the instructions work and everyone is happy to leave a comment telling me so. A few even actually bought me a beer. Why not charge them a small fee to gain access to the post that will solve their problem?

As I said, I’ve only just installed it, so expect a followup post telling you how it all went.

An interesting concept Sire. I look forward to your updates on the degree of success you get with it.

Damn, there’s me telling everyone off on Wassupblog for allowing comments to go into moderation and then that’s exactly what happens to your. My bad, sorry Michael it won’t happen again. 😉

It is an interesting concept, and that is the perfect post to test our whether or not it works. Either way I will be telling you all about it in later posts.

Thanks for the quick comment approval.

By the way, there is this error message at the bottom of the MediaPass test post “Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/theel7/public_html/blogsire/SBizzTech/wp-content/themes/flexsqueeze140/footer.php on line 5” in the grey line just above the red footer.

Did you also see that as the page loads the text of the original post is visible for several seconds before the MediaPass iframe kicks in? I know this is still really new and you’re just testing but for anyone keen enough and who reads fast enough, there appears to be a way to circumvent it. Maybe there is another setting somewhere to overcome this. Is MediaPass a plugin or copy/paste code you put into the post body?

    Cheers, Michael

I just happened to be taking a break from a grueling outside job, checked my email and noticed it.

I just checked in Firefox and Chrome and I can’t see the error message. That’s weird.

It actually does take a few secs to kick in, I noticed that on some other sites as well. I’ll have to ask them about that. Maybe it’s a teaser?

    1. The error is showing up right underneath the Submit Comment button on this page. I am using Chrome. I checked your page using YSlow firefox plugin and there are three theme images that return a 404 page. Maybe the error relates to them.

    2. It could be. I just signed up with MediaPass as they are offering lifetime 35% take – as in you get to keep 65%. I clicked through from your page so I hope that records you as the affiliate 🙂

    Cheers, Michael

OK, I found the problem. It wouldn’t show until I logged out. Funny how that would make a difference. All fixed now. Thanks for pointing that out.

Did you click from the link in this page, because that’s a free link?

Sounds interesting. I guess the content would have to be one of those amazing posts great bloggers write every 10 articles or so. I’ve already started looking into it and I am hoping to hear what your results are.
